Loki still has my favorite finale but this was a close second. 2 decent surprises. As a whole this is the best MCU show
Loki's finale is still the best single episode of any of these shows so far, but Moon Knight is definitely the best overall imo. Loki still a close second though.
I don't have much interest in a follow up, which feels crazy to me. I guess something about a lot of these characters doesn't translate well to me. My favorite characters when I was younger were Runaways, Cloak & Dagger, and Moon Knight. None of the shows have really done much for me.
I liked this show overall but ep 6 felt rushed as hell. I'm pretty disappointed with the way they finished this off seeing as its supposed to be a limited series. The last few minutes before credits were kinda confusing for me personally. What is real? what's not? Was everything in his head the whole time? One thing that annoyed me was Marc blacking out this ep in the final fight. It felt cheap as fuck compared to the other times they did that and added to this feeling rushed. It was an effective tease early in the season but they knew we all wanted to finally see MK being brutal to Harrow and his goons.... Like its the series (season?) finale, there should be some sort of pay off there since MK himself was barely in the show.
I agree with the blackout in this episode feeling like a cheap way to avoid showing what actually went down. I get that they didn't want to reveal Jake until the post-credits, but then I dunno, just don't write the scene like that? Apart from that though, enjoyable episode and I'm so down for a Season 2. Also somewhat surprised at Layla becoming the MCU Scarlet Scarab. I knew they hinted at the connection via her father, but I still didn't expect it.
The one scene with Marc and Steven in Harrow's office with Harrow bleeding, I don't think it's supposed to be anything other than just a metaphor for their headspace, although I do agree it's somewhat superfluous and a little confusing.
So how did Jake come back to life? He was trapped in the sarcophagus. How did he get out and also go through the door that Marc and Steven went through to come back? Did he just automatically come back too? I realize he’s a personality and it’s technically only Marc’s actual body, I guess? But if that’s why he still came back why did Marc need Steven to open the door? Shouldn’t Marc have just been able to do it and automatically have both Steven and Jake back? I don’t get why they wanted to wait for the reveal to be post credits. We’ve known for weeks now that there is at least one more personality due to black outs and Marc and Steven both claiming to have not done things they clearly did. I dunno. This show didn’t blow me away. I liked it and Oscar utterly killed it, but it just didn’t fully engage me.
Honestly, this is where I feel like these MCU shows need to stop being only 6 episodes. I'm not saying they need to be 13 like the Netflix shows (although I never myself had an issue with that ever), but I feel like 6 is selling these shows short. Like maybe 8-9 would be a better sweet spot and allow there to be more play and exploration with these concepts. That's my take.
The shows should be as long as they need to be. Loki being 6 episodes was a pretty good length, but this definitely could've benefited from another episode
Show definitely got more interesting in the back half, but still middling overall in terms of the Disney+ shows for me. Not as good as Loki or WandaVision but better than F&WS and Hawkeye.
Yeah this wasn’t that engaging to me. I fell asleep in 1 episode and almost fell asleep in the 5 others. I wanted to like it…. Maybe I just watched at the wrong times lol.
this was alright. best mcu show by far but still a b-rate legion, which it was clearly trying so hard to be.
My fiancé made me watch this because I don’t watch the MCU, but I really loved this. I will echo that I wish there was an episode or two more, but it’s fine. Trying to find a promo for Marvel Unlimited so I can read Lemire’s run.
