I saw this yesterday and thought it was great. About an hour and a half in, I really had to pee, but I did not.

Saw this over the weekend. I think it’s my favorite film of 2025. Right above Frankenstein

What a great movie - did not disappoint! Timothy Chalamet’s best performance so far, hands down. And I was pleasantly surprised with Tyler the Creator too
This was a huge improvement over Uncut Gems as well. Ive never been as impressed with it as others, and I’m glad this is back to the emotional resonance of Good Time. There are so many great moments here (the bathtub scene got me, but also the sperm, him crying at the end, the bowling alley scene, etc), and Gwyneth’s character was a perfect ideological foil to Marty - an actress trying to find some semblance of reality in a world where her currency has dried up, and Marty a person trying to burgeon his way out of the lower class by any means necessary (outside of slow and steady work I guess lol).
The honey scene was integral to understanding the true depths of Marty’s depravity imo. It fees weird to say but using his “Jewish heritage” as a post-WWII sympathy card and shield for his reactionary comments was just incredible. But typical of an overconfident 23 year old I guess! Loved it and find it necessary. Between OBAA and this we have two incredible, distinctly American movies that blew my mind (and I watched both this week, good week!)

And that doesn’t even touch on any of the ping pong stuff! Tim did his research - there was one move he did towards the end that reminded me of my friend and I when we were involved with local ping pong competitions and of some of the matches we had. I have to look at the rule book though, I thought that you needed to serve diagonally across the table to begin play, yet they served to the same side for several points. Maybe the rule book was different in the 50’s. Endo did it too so I’m sure it’s period accurate
