Also, between ASAP Rocky in “If I Had Legs” and Tyler in this, great year for hip-hop artists giving really good performances in A24 movies.
I’ll get to it. It’s just all the awards stuff I still want to watch are like a minimum 2+ hours long. Gotta lock in.
Kevin O’Leary wasn’t bad in any way but he basically just played himself so I really don’t see why anyone is praising it. Feels like just a stunt casting
saw this tonight, absolutely fantastic movie. at first you think it’s gonna be far more chill than uncut gems and good time but it just takes off at a certain point and gets super fucking crazy
The bar is low, but he seemed pretty natural. It wasn’t like an “80 For Brady” stunt casting level of stiffness.
I thought O’Leary was very good. I’ve seen maybe 2 minutes of shark tank so I don’t know how he normally is. Sorry to enjoy his performance.
the people next to me were very giddy when they realized it was him. wasn't until his 2nd scene though. "Hey that's that guy!"
O’Leary sucks for reasons outside of shark tank. He wants his buddy Trump to like annex Canada. That being said, he’s the perfect sleazeball casting for this role. If anything we should be praising the casting not the performance. But I also get some people who would prefer he not be platformed in any way.
I have only seen clips of that show but what those judges on Shark Tank are doing is a form of acting, so it is not that surprising that it would transfer over. However, I still have nightmares about Mark Cuban's turn in Good Burger 2.
Finally saw this today and was fucking transfixed, Chalamet is such a star and I can't wait to see what Safdie does next, it feels like all of his movies have built on what the last one did perfectly (although Good Time is still my favorite tbh) I will say there were a few times where I thought it was wrapping up before a whole new segment started which made me feel the length a bit, but I don't think that should be an issue on rewatches and the way that it actually wraps up is perfect
Interesting. Thought she was terrible in I Love LA but I have seen a lot of positive reception for her in this
