Taking a break from this. As someone with a child who went through a divorce, and an extremely emotional one at that, this is giving me so much anxiety. So many parts I could just feel my body going into overdrive.
I stopped at the part where Adam talks about if he could ensure the kid who be okay, he wish she would die. It broke me too because it was too real. Granted I’ve drank a whole bottle of wine already, but I’ve had similar thoughts and it’s just too michh.
This acting in this is incredible.

 

the mental image of him and Greta on a train next to each other listening to Black Skinhead on their IPODs is incredible

About 40 minutes in and holy shit I didnt know Julie Hagerty was in this and shes so good I love her why isnt she in more things

Went over to my dad’s and he was watching this and I wasn’t ready to experience this twice in one day. But I was reminded of how great the Alan Alda scenes are.

“It’s looking like we might have to go to court.”
“Are you aware of how maddening you sound?”
“I am.”

 

The Wallace Shawn “four time Oscar Winner” line and the knife scene killed me.

 

I love the movie but would love a movie about the Lions/Dern/Alda characters

 

we clearly need the Laura Dern as hot rich badass California lawyer cinematic universe that hopefully Renata Klein and Nora are just the beginning of

 

This was so good. My face is notably hot.

 

Didn’t realize Alda had Parkinson’s, pretty noticeable in a couple of scenes.

 

This was so good and so heartbreaking. Everyone was good, but Driver was phenomenal.

 

I’ve been married and am divorced. I’m watching this tomorrow and figure it’s going to kill me. Will report back.

 

God this was amazing. Easily in my top 5 of the year

 

Can’t stop thinking about Driver’s crying when he read the letter, fuck.
