Man they fell off after that first album. Sunday Morning still a banger for when we are prepping family breakfasts at the weekend. Along with any Jack Johnson.
Songs About Jane is still far and away their best, but I do think their second and even somewhat their third albums still have some jams. After that though……… yikes.
First album is great, second and third albums are good, fourth has a couple gems but is mostly soulless junk, and V is a special kind of abomination. I have not listened to any of their albums since then.
One of their later albums had like, a 10 minute instrumental jam on it, or as a bonus track, that was really cool. I'm sure I've posted about it in this very thread. Showed that they could still do interesting things if they cared
I can’t lie… I dig this one. First time in ages I’ve thought one of their new songs was catchy in a non-grating way. Maybe I’m just a sucker for saxophone pop but I think it’s a solid melody and feels more like an actual band playing lol. Still has super generic lyrics and overproduction, but a step in the right direction imo
