Far from a glowing review, but this album is better than the last. Way less in your face offensivly bad haha
Another boring faceless song from a band that’s made very little else for almost a decade at this point. Such a shame.
I appreciate your commitment to updating this thread, considering Maroon 5 have been terrible for at least a decade.
I'm committed to reporting the news when I see it, quality aside! 1/3 of the post in this entire thread are myself, 1/3 is @beachdude and the rest is everyone else haha
Going back and forth on bringing back my 0.5/10 review of V from AbsolutePunk. I wonder if @Jason Tate has an opinion.
I'll stand by Sugar being a solid pop song, but I don't remember anything else from that album except Animals from looking at the track list
Hmm... Have not really cared for Maroon 5 in a long time but I have been into Megan Thee Stallion a lot so I am cautiously optimistic.
It's hard for me to fault them, because it obviously works really well, but damn they are good at grabbing whoever is the hot artist of the moment and getting them on a track... it's been their strategy since 2016. Kendrick, Future, SZA, Cardi B, Megan
and yes, there is certainly a conversation to be had about all these guests being people of color and the idea of co-opting their fame
I honestly never thought about that (I didn't know about their other features tbh) but that's definitely something valid to bring up!
Yeah I thought about it as I was looking at their list of singles Maroon 5 discography - Wikipedia you can add in Rihanna and Wiz Khalifa there as well. Christina Aguilera is the only non-POC that they've featured on a single out of eight
Songs About Jane and It Won't Be Soon Before Long are still great albums and even most of Hands All Over but everything after has been so generic. Would love another another album in vein of the first 2 from them.
