Mark Hoppus of Blink-182’s new memoir will be titled Fahrenheit-182 and will be due out on April 8th. Pre-orders are now up and signed copies can be ordered here.

A smart, funny, and refreshing memoir from Mark Hoppus, the vocalist, bassist, and founding member of pop-punk band blink-182.

This is a story of what happens when an angst-ridden kid who grew up in the desert experiences his parents’ bitter divorce, moves around the country, switches identities from dork to goth to skate punk, and eventually meets his best friend who just so happens to be his musical soulmate.

Bassist, songwriter, and vocalist for renowned pop-punk trailblazers blink-182, Mark Hoppus, tells his story in Fahrenheit-182. A memoir that paints a vivid picture of what it was like to grow up in the 1980s as a latchkey kid hooked on punk rock, skateboards, and MTV; Mark Hoppus shares how he came of age and forms one of the biggest bands of his generation. Threaded through with the very human story of a constant battle with anxiety and Mark’s public battle and triumph over cancer, Fahrenheit-182 is a delight for fans and also a funny, smart, and relatable memoir for anyone who has wanted to quit but kept going.

I wonder if he will mention anything regarding the Raynor split

Dan Ozzi apparently helped write it, which makes me extra excited 'cause he's a great writer.

Yeah that would be very interesting to have him directly address the issue. His explanation in the past has been like, “I’ve said everything I want to say about it.”
Also, he was extremely candid about the first blink breakup back in ‘05. I get the impression that blink is only able to continue today at least partially because he has chosen to let go of some grievances. Not that those grievances have been addressed, but he is choosing to ignore and forget about some things. Will he spill his guts about both breakups in the book?

I think it’s entirely possible that mark hasn’t even spoken with Scott since he left but who knows

This is great! However, he has to be aware that all the longtime fans are expecting him to talk about Scott.

Based on the email I got from Dan Ozzi yesterday, I would almost certainly say the Raynor split will be addressed at least somewhat if it's "the definitive history of blink". I've never considered that Mark has been the only person at EVERY blink show, but I guess he has!

While that's true about Mark being the only one at every show, it doesn't necessarily mean Raynor will be addressed. I feel like we kind of mostly know the story anyway, and it's just splitting hairs at this point. Seems like Scott was drunk and out of control, the band gave him an ultimatum to quit drinking, he either met it or didn't depending on who's telling the story, and they kicked him out and replaced him with Travis. I'm hoping we get more than that though. Let me know if my synopsis is missing anything.

I would be very surprised if Mark came out and said, "Travis was just a better drummer, so we kicked Scott out. Everything else was just an excuse." (Not that I'm saying that's my take—I don't think we'll ever get the full story because there are disagreements about facts)
