Totally get that, it just works in the context of the album, and is such a blast fro start to finish.

The ending is probably a top 5 MT moment, so reminiscent of Pop 101 and makes the song click for me

 

Yeah. I'm not going to argue with you there. And the instrumentation is a jam. I just think it's the chorus that annoys me.

 

Just saw the Knew You When vid play at my New York Sports club...I think this is the first time I saw MT in the wild?

 

Honestly, I know I'll get shit for saying it because people on here are weirdly defensive of Ever After, but Porcelain is probably my least favourite MT song. I also really, really do not like Fallout... will never understand the love for that song, the chorus is gratingly annoying for me. In terms of stuff from other albums, love most of Fix Me, but Shake Tramp definitely didn't age well... and Shut Up and Kiss Me is probably the sole weak point of Astoria.

 

I also don't like Porcelain

Echoes of You or Only the Lonely Survive?

 

I'm liking both at this point. Echoes of You, for the first half of the song, was feeling a bit underwhelming but I really like where it builds to.

 

Idk guys, this album is really shaping up to be different. I can’t have any opinions yet

More listening of the new stuff and yeah, Only the Lonely Survive is genuinely great and Echoes of You is growing on me fast and the second half of the song is really wonderful. The hype train for this album is still going full speed ahead (for me).

Yeah, they’re really going for something broodier and atmospheric on this album. I’m not sure how I feel about it so far, since these songs aren’t as outright “bright” as before.

We’ll see everything in context, but right now this album is heading towards the bottom of my rankings

Echoes of You is my favorite song by them in a LONG time. Wow.

 

Yeah, Echoes of You is incredible. The drum hits before the chorus get me HYPE

I love Porcelain but that’s also because my wife and I walked out to our wedding reception being introduced as Mr and Mrs for the first time at the point where it reaches its peak and had confetti timed and everything. It was awesome haha

 

I knew you when and and only the lonely survive both grew on me but do feel a little short of what MT usually produces. Echoes of You is pretty awesome. Even if it seems like there are EDM sounding elements at times.

Only listening to the Intro song and it's typical MT. Excited to fully listen later today. Hopefully it doesn't disappoint. Masterpiece Theatre is definitely a masterpiece .
