Alright, my votes: Truth or Dare - I will break ties, but I won't create ties, as I mentioned before - so Truth or Dare would win regardless. With that said, I think that No Place Like Home is the band's weakest closer - a good song, no doubt, but one of my least favourite songs on the album. Truth or Dare takes this easily for me. Sorry fam! Desperate Measures - Porcelain has never really been a standout track on the album, for me, whereas Desperate Measures was my fave on the album when it first came out (and I still think it's a fantastic song). Haven't Had Enough - B Team is an enjoyable song, but Haven't Had Enough is on another level. That bridge tho. By Now - I love Stutter, but By Now is my preferred song in this match-up. It's a phenomenal song that deserves more love than it got this round. Final Score No Place Like Home - 3 Truth or Dare - 5 Porcelain - 3 Desperate Measures - 5 B Team - 0 Haven’t Had Enough - 8 Stutter - 6 By Now - 2
Quarter-final round Truth or Dare vs. Fallout Desperate Measures vs. So Soon Haven't Had Enough vs. Ever After Stutter vs. Toy Soldiers
Truth or Dare Desperate Measures (tough matchup though) Ever After (my first and still one of favorite Marianas Trench songs) Stutter
Current Score Truth or Dare - 1 Fallout - 2 Desperate Measures - 3 So Soon - 0 Haven’t Had Enough - 2 Ever After - 1 Stutter - 2 Toy Soldiers - 1
Fallout (so difficult!) Desperate Measures Haven't Had Enough (this was even harder than the first matchup!) Stutter
Fallout - absolutely massive song, and one of my favorites. The drums hit hard and rock. This song is one of the few that showcases their rock leanings in an album full of sugary hooks and pop. Really drives forward the narrative of the story, and perfectly paces the album. Desperate Measures - Can't knock this one out whew Ever After - One of their best songs. Period. Stutter - Toy Soldiers is great but the variety that Stutter brings to the album is absolutely essential
Sorry for the delay here, busy day. My votes (AKA here y'all go knocking out the albums best songs AKA I clearly don't agree with everyone else's opinions about this band's music AKA emo Spenny is in the house LOL) Truth or Dare - Fallout is an alright song, but it's not a highlight on the album for me. Truth or Dare is infectious and unforgettable and everything I want from a Marianas Trench song So Soon - I'm inclined to vote for Desperate Measures, but So Soon is one of my current faves on the album. Hits me hard every time, so needed to give it at least one vote of love. Ever After - What the actual hell everyone. Ever After is (in my opinion) the band's second best song overall, and yet all the votes for Haven't Had Enough? This result is the one that guts me the most of any result so far in this thread, especially since I can't create a tie (or if I do, the other song wins as I won't give myself a double vote privilege). The best song on the album, by a mile, is out :( Toy Soldiers - Love Stutter, but Toy Soldiers is a better all-around song for me. Depending on my mood, I either love or am indifferent about Stutter's chorus, which can be a problem. Final Score Truth or Dare - 2 Fallout - 4 Desperate Measures - 5 So Soon - 1 Haven’t Had Enough - 3 (advances) Ever After - 3 Stutter - 4 Toy Soldiers - 2
Well since Ever After is out, I guess: Fallout Haven't Had Enough (sorry for changing, but after some thought...this is one of their strongest songs by far. Stutter is obviously ace as well, but it functions better within it's placement on the album than outside of it. Haven't Had Enough is just a monster in every which way)
Current Score Fallout - 2 Desperate Measures - 2 Haven't Had Enough - 2 Stutter - 2 Ties, ties, ties. Interesting round so far!
Fallout (Desperate Measures is incredible, but it scratches a similar itch that Haven’t Had Enough and Stutter get at) Haven’t Had Enough
Yeah, we'll chalk this round up as a bit of a fail lol. Can't cause a tie, so the votes above are the final decision. (For the record, I vote for Desperate Measures and Stutter) Final Score Fallout - 3 (win) Desperate Measures - 3 Haven't Had Enough - 3 (win) Stutter - 3
Fallout Both are really solid tracks, but Fallout has been in my head a lot these past few days and that must mean something!
