I’d like to pop in the bracket thread to shamelessly plug my own thread that some of us have had fun with.

The Chorus Music Club Society

Basically this is a music exchange club, sort of like a book club. Each week you’re partnered with someone different, you trade 1-2 albums to eachother, and when you get a good feel of the album you post your thoughts. Many of us have discovered new favorites in this, and the genres vary from 80s to pop Punk to metalcore to hip hop.

In honor of one of my favorite albums of all time, I present to you the only review I have written in my life, 7(!!!!) years ago:
Marianas Trench: Ever After Review

This album is incredible and I will die on the hill saying it is my vote for most underrated pop album ever. But what do I know. It’s also going to be hard to judge these songs individually since the ebb and flow of this album changes the songs within context of the album.

No Place Like Home - wat? No Place is a fucking monster of a closer, the harmonies that open this song give me chills. Truth of Dare is incredible too. Always thought with a little tweak this could have easily been on Folie a Deux, and the vocal woahs are ingenious. But No Place just rocks, and love that it finally breaks the levy’s towards the middle.

Porcelain - their best slow song. Gotta give it the edge here. Desperate measures is insane too. Just watched a video about the millennial whoop recently, and this song is a perfect example of how to utilize it effectively and creatively.

Haven’t Had Enough - The bridge on this is just immaculate, and that high note at the end, into the chorus, back into a high riff by Josh is one of my favorite moments in the record. B Team flows so perfectly from Toy Soldiers I was so tripped up the first few times listening to this. I really view Toy Soldiers and B-team as one song whenever I listen, so it’s really Toy Soldiers/B-Team

I have to say, though... I love Stutter, but I'm surprised that By Now isn't getting more love.
