Just now getting around to listening to Richard Edwards Sings His Margot & The Nuclear So And So’s Quarantine album and holy hell, that record is cool as fuck. I expected slower and more intimate tunes, but I did not expect this. Richard sounds on point and the production is incredible. Hopefully he’s planning on a Second Volume.
Is anyone on here a member of Richard Edward's Patreon? I have a test pressing of his Quarantine Song Book and have another variant on the way. Anyhow, I cannot seem to find a digital download for the album and I've looked everywhere (digital downloads are supposed to be provided for members) and can't get a response from anyone either on where to look and if you do happen to have a digital copy - I would very much appreciate a copy.
He dumped a ton of demos on Spotify. Its weird because this is the version of Talking in Code I was familiar with for a lot of years.
There’s one LP’s worth of demos for each of Margot’s 5 albums… the same structure as the Bride on the Boxcar set, basically. He’s talking about turning it into a box set itself next year sometime.
Richard’s new album of Margot re-recordings is being announced track by track over the next week or so… there’s some stuff on this one that will really delight people. The version of “A Sea Chanty of Sorts” on here is bone-chillingly good.
Cross-posting from the current Richard Edwards thread, which you all should go join if you aren't already there. via email newsletter: During the protracted period of pandemic isolation some friends and I embarked on a project entitled, “Richard Edwards Sings The Margot & The Nuclear So And So’s Songbook In Quarantine” which found us attempting to record soulful and (hopefully) beautiful reinterpretations of some of the songs from the Margot & The Nuclear So And So’s catalog. The result is (Thus far) two volumes featuring some definitive versions of some cult classic Margot tunes. Today we are thrilled to announce the second volume which is even better than the first. It was a labor of love and we hope you will dig it. The album is available in standard, special edition, and deluxe edition vinyl, as well as digital. We’ve worked very hard to make this one of our absolute best ever releases and we hope you’ll be excited to add it to your collection. As always, thank you for supporting independent music. -Richard the track list: I believe he'll be adding "A Sea Chanty of Sorts" to that Bandcamp page later tonight, and you can listen to "Broadripple is Burning" there right now.
Richard's letting me sift through the unreleased La Blogothèque footage from 2008-2009 (there's more than enough for a movie, it's just never been completed) and I'm posting some little bite-sized clips on this TikTok profile if anyone wants to follow along.
Long shot: does anybody have a Billboard subscription? Trying to access a specific chart from 2017 to grab a screenshot (for Lemon Cotton Candy Sunset coming in one spot below Bob Dylan on the vinyl charts) and they're locked unless you're a subscriber. And there's no monthly payment option to subscribe, only annually. And that's over $100.
his first album he put out under the name archer avenue. written as a teenager and garnered enough regional attention to kinda jumpstart margot
