Her last one didn't end up having a ton of staying power for me aside from 2-3 tracks, so I'm hoping this one takes things in some exciting new directions.

 

On first listen, I'm pretty blown away by this. I think it's a big leap forward for her.

 

Very excited to give this a listen later this morning

 

Definitely will check this out later. I haven't listened to her stuff a ton, but I really enjoyed a Fresh Air episode she did a while back and always meant to do a deeper dive.

 

Yeah this is great, as expected. Definitely can hear the ol' STURGILL touch on a few tracks haha

 

“Heartless Mind” is... hey! I didn’t know she could do this.

 

This is a MASSIVE leap forward for her. I’m pretty stunned by it

My main complaint with All American Made is that the recordings felt a little slapdash. This one feels a lot more fully realized to me. The musicians she got to play on it are just a murderer's row, and Sturgill's really growing in to a great producer.

Also, the whole thing is good, but the last track might be her best song ever.

 

Yeah I saw her open for My Morning Jacket in Nashville back in 2017 (wild they both happen to have new records out today!) and her band was extremely good. Definitely felt like more of that came through on this record than on the last one, although I really liked All American Made. Sturgill seems to just have "it" behind the boards

 

I’ve never really loved her before, but the B Side of Margo Price’s new album is so excellent.

 

Yeah this album is pretty close to perfect

 

This is her best record by a pretty big margin imo. “Hey Child” and “I’d Die For You” are instant classics.
