Agreed. It's weird that this is her "first album in pop" move, because this kind of annoying drawn out marketing tactic is totally a Nashville thing. I think it's a bad idea for her, though. Feels like she has no momentum or buzz, but might have when she announced she was leaving country.

 

It's definitely weird, and I can't quite figure out what the deal is. Maybe she simply doesn't have an album yet, but wants to pepper out some music? Or maybe this is a way to try and see if she can get a single to stick first? Honestly not sure...

I like the song. The funny thing is that it doesn't seem any less "country" than a lot of what was on GIRL. She's always been a very pop-forward country artist.
