Working with Sara Aarons again (The Middle, other smash pop hits) and Greg Kurstin... is she going FULL pop? We shall see
I was just thinking that as I heard The Middle on the radio for the 80th time, I hope she doesn't go for a huge crossover this album. Glad it's been so successful for her though
Tonight I got to go to one of the fan club listening parties and this album is AMAZING. She played us about 6 or so songs and honestly I’m obsessed. A few of the songs have strings which sound amazing. A few have a R&B vibe which is really cool. She has 2 collabs on the album but wouldn’t say who they’re with. She didn’t mention a release date but I’m assuming it should be announced soon.
I’d say about the same maybe a little more. There’s a song called RSVP which I could see doing really well on pop radio.
I'm very curious which direction she goes. The pop route seems like such a natural fit for her, but her biggest hit was a more traditional country ballad. I'm totally fine with her keeping one foot in both worlds, though. In any case, very excited to hear what's next.
She said we’d hear news soon. I’d expect sometime after New Years. They’re finalizing mixes on the last song(s) now.
1. HELL YES 2. It goes to COUNTRY radio this Thursday, definitely should quell some people's fears that she is about to go 100% pop.
Would not be surprised if they try to push some of the later singles more to pop radio, but leading off with a country radio single seems like a smart bet for her/her label.
Yeah I would be shocked if she doesn't have crossover-ready songs on here, but at least it's not a full pop turn
