I'd like to pretty much spend more time with all of them. I wish this show had more than just two episodes left.

also I don’t think the camera zooming in on the beer was to reference DNA but just that he had just asked for a beer and hadn’t even taken a drink before he “had to go”.

mare gonna be in big big trouble though.

 

It was for sure a DNA thing. Mare was salivating at the opportunity. Her friend also seemed to push the dude to admit more and more and make him look like a creepo.

there’s also a shot of Zabel’s coffee he briefly forgets when Mare picks him up. And it made me suspect suspect. But I bet it ends up on Mare’s desk as a memento.

she’s probably going to be reinstated and commended lol

 

I don’t just can’t help but feel that if she weren’t suspended and was there as an actual detective that she would have been armed and could have possibly saved Zabel’s life. she realized the dangerous environment they were in immediately and can’t looking at Zabel to see when he was going to do something. Chief was not happy with her earlier already for getting involved.

 

The preview for next week answers that question lol

 

she solved the case and managed to survive despite her partner eating shit. she also closed a cold case over a year old. she's going to get hyped up for sure

 

I guess I don't know how these things work, because I assumed she is going to be in a world of shit after what went down too. She wasn't even supposed to be there, and he should have had an armed, actual detective there with him like the coffee guy from before.

This show is also low key hilarious.

 

jean smart’s reaction to dude calling her out at the wake is one of the funnier things i’ve seen in a bit

 

I could watch an hour of Jean Smart’s character.

 

When she gets his by the door and is on the stretcher on the way to the ambulance Mare says something like oh it's just a scratch or something and Helen has an all-timer right after "I'm sorry I'm not more maimed for you". The resident fruit ninja enthusiast. Her character is just fantastic all around.

So John is actually the dad, right? that was my guess as of last week, but the way the episode ended there seals it for me

 

Yeah I'm 99% sure this is the case

 

Think this piece pretty much nails it (and adds some things I didn’t even think about)

 

Zabel situation was great. New episode is back to sucking. Dialogue on this show is bad and tone is all over the place

Felt like that scene was planting the seed of the mother deciding that she can't give him the best life and wanting to continue to share custody or something

 

Oh 100%, I just think it was wild to have a shot of the kid floating face down in an overflowing tub

 

Good episode

 

I kinda dug the show being like "fuck you we're gonna add more tension to this scene and play with your emotions right now because we can" with the tub scene
