If you watched that UConn run and honestly are like “yeah that wasn’t surprising at all” you’re a liar.
It's surprising because they were a 7 seed and were on what many considered to be a down year for UCONN...but as i said in the previous post, compared to what Texas Tech could potentially do, or Auburn, it's not as surprising. Anytime a blue blood program makes the final four, i'm sorry, i'm not "surprised". IT's more like "huh, they put it all together at the right time". According to you, it's all about the seed. Kentucky can be a 7 seed and Vanderbilt can be a 2 seed...and if Kentucky wins, that's an upset and they're the underdog.
well the notion that it's all about the seed in determining what's "Surprising" and what's "an underdog" is ridiculous in my opinion. Like i said, anytime a blue blood program makes the final four, i will never be surprised.
Auburn and Tech are definitely underdogs. They've been underdogs in nearly every matchup and were last and second to last in odds to advance to the final four and they're underdogs in those games too.
I thought we were talking about Kemba's UConn and was gonna say I also wasn't surprised after they won 5 in 5 days at the Big East. 2014 UConn? It was 100% surprising. Signed: a guy that's watched them for 29 years.
I look at it like well Auburn is good, they are a 5 seed but nobody really expected then to get past the sweet 16.
Oh for sure. Plus a program and coach who have never been this far ever...AND they beat three of the premier teams in the country to get their. AND without one of their best players in the elite 8. It's a GREAT story in my opinion.
Rooting for Texas Tech or Virginia. Virginia deserves a title at this point. They’ve been a very good program for awhile now.
Really doesn't matter to me who wins as long as it's not MSU. They don't even deserve to have a school after all that shit that happened.
Man, I’m bummed I won’t be able to watch Zion anymore this season. I still like RJ, but he’s gonna have to work on his finishing and shot selection.
Duke’s Greatest Recruiting Class Is Coach K’s Ultimate Failure I'm a Duke hater (though I took a hiatus from that this year), but this is a bad take. We're really going to hit Coach K with the can't win with freshman label when *checks notes* he already did it in 2015? Are they just going to recycle the same content they did with Calipari until he won in 2012?
It’s only a “failure” because of the ridiculous hype surrounding the team. They were talked about as if they were unbeatable and the greatest team ever. The expectations were insane. Making it to the elite 8 and winning a conference tournament is a successful season. But when we, not just the media, deem them goat status anything less than a championship can be labeled as a “failure” even though it’s unfair to the players.
Both of those UConn runs were surprising yall are insane. UConn fans maybe had confidence after the Big East tourney in 2011 but that was absolutely not the consensus. Their big east tourney win that year was surprising enough and no one thought they'd go very far in the real thing. 2014, self-explanatory shocker obviously
