What a great album. It’s nice to see there’s still a few gems to be found on here!!! I hope these guys get some traction!
end of perch has reminded me of some other band for a while now - just got it. receiving end of sirens. will stop namedropping other bands in this thread now
After sitting with this on repeat over the weekend, I’m officially calling this my favorite album of the year. First album that has given me goosebumps maybe in a few years. Maybe because of the pandemic and where I’m at in life, I’m resonating with it like crazy right now. Anyone else?
It took me a while to realize RJW stands for river, jungle, waterfall. I wanna know what it means though.
About to make a strange, off the wall comparison but now that I’ve heard it I can’t stop thinking about it. There are a few vocal melodies/cadences that remind me a lot of Pete Loeffler of Chevelle. The most obvious one is the “trade it for no other space” line toward the end of RJW. This album grows on me more and more with every listen. Love getting a nice surprise from a band I wasn’t familiar with to close out the year.
gonna add to the endless stream of comparisons and say the end of "Perch" gave me Circa Survive vibes for a minute thinking like, end of "Only the Sun"
Perch is so amazing. "Truth be told it's on and on and I don't want to be here anymore. Pirates?" Then the ending is just phenomenal. I feel like I haven't seriously listened to an album front to back, connected and taken it in like this one a long, long time. While retaining the same sound every song captures a different mood. I was always worried getting older meant music might not hit me like it did in my teens. Then an album like this shoots out, and I'm like hell yea. This is gonna be a goat for me.
