The IG clips have sounded so good. I'm gonna be a little mad if they top Black Mile and I have to get another MO tattoo. By "mad" I mean "not mad".
I just wanna point out how much this band has done, even in the 5 years they’ve been fathers and husbands (even longer). This will probably be about the norm for them for the foreseeable future. I worried about them eliminating all ‘random’ touring, but they’ve done a couple off cycle tours on the East coast, are now doing the METN TOUR, on top of all the Bad Books dates. I am very very excited for the future.
I think they need to make hitting up Canada at least a priority for the next album cycle tour. I have some friends in Canada who are pretty bummed that they almost never come there. I get it, touring outside the A markets isn't a huge priority for them but I do think a run in canada could do them some good.
Not 100% sure why people are guessing whether they are done with the next project or not. They spelt it out in the METN announcement last week. They've been writing for the next project all year and have started the process but they will be returning "to the bunker" to finish if off after the METN celebration tour:
I'm not sure why, but I have this gut feeling we're close to a new non-LP 6 (7?) Single (a la No Hard Feelings or IKHTS). I know we just got my backwards walk and BB3, but I feel like in the next month or so Andy will want to keep the iron hot.
I posted this in the Bad Books thread but I’ve got a spare ticket to the show at Saturday at Lodge Room if anyone wants to come hang
Adding new MO to my list of 2020 releases I’m looking forward to. I hope it has a mix of the strengths from previous records.
Historically, they tend to do late Spring to early Summer, I think that lead in to the touring cycle probably is the most comfortable for them and their families. I say next year is a good bet, regardless of timing.
Hopefully May/June 2020 if it works for the band/touring. If they’ve been busy working it seems possible. They do have a lot of projects so it may not be practical.
I figure Black Mile’s the most “mainstream” success they’ve had since METN right? Definitely want to capitalize off that ASAP
I am all about them capitalizing on Black Mile success and sound. Cope will always mean the world to me, but I feel Black Mile really took them to the next level.
