He mentioned during a Q&A at one of his solo shows in May that they were looking for a producer for the next record, which seemed to indicate, thankfully, that it won't be Dan Hannon this time around.
I agree. I think it'd be great if they worked with the guy who did Thrice's TBEITBN, because that record sounds fantastic and I think captures that part of Thrice quite well.
The new record is going to be absolutely ridiculous. From the sounds of it, it's gonna be quieter than Cope, and a lot more story driven.
I don't even care if it's another heavy straight forward album, just want the production to be good this time. But if it's more diverse like their previous album, that'd be even better.
Well, that's awesome. I just wasn't sure if there was an interview or video I had missed somewhere. I'm totally cool with what you did post though: "quieter" sounds pretty nice.
Yeah I saw it the other night. Enjoyed it a lot, but I thought the ending was just real weird and uncomfortable.
Ah man the ending was sooooo great. So many things to take away from this movie. Ways to interpret it. Etc. And obviously the music. Been listening to the soundtrack nonstop.
excited for something story driven. I personally want Manchester Orchestra to be a little heavy since I think that this is their outlet for that since we have Bad Books and Right Away Great Captain for the softer sound. Hoping it's not too much softer and that one day we get another song like Pride again ha. Any idea if it's coming out this year?
They posted a few weeks ago that they were going into the studio so it could potentially come out in late fall/early winter. More realistically early next year I would guess.
2 weeks ago they announced they're done writing the record and the "fun part" was beginning. Presumably that means recording, which gives them plenty of time to release it by end of year.
id be fine with next year. its really getting to the point now to where im afraid i wont be able to give some releases as much time as i want to since SO MUCH has been released already and a ton of things are on the way.
I used to get impatient about when albums would be released, but if Saosin taught me anything since 2011 it's that it'll happen when it happens. There's so much music to anticipate and find and enjoy out there that I'm okay if the Man Orch album comes out next year then I'm okay with that.
Don't care if they wait another two years just get a damn producer haha.. I'll like it either way I'm sure.. Also maybe they got better at recording after doing the all get out record
