It was a very slow meandering over produced (in my opinion) song that repeated lyrics about life in a town...demons...with front bottoms backing vocals. Lots of layers. Just sort of flowed. Didn't really strike me well. Lots of repetitive lyrics and keyboard. He sounded bored while singing? Not sure if that makes any sense. Maybe I'm just still bitter about Delta today lol Amazon Drive
It feels like their songs are pretty intense and more emotionally difficult than those of other bands. Maybe that sounds pretentious, but I think it’s true. It may very well be that a 20 song set is just not realistic for a tour.
Last time I saw them headline in Cleveland (granted, it was seven years ago), they played 20 songs. Manchester Orchestra Setlist at Beachland Ballroom and Tavern, Cleveland Last time I saw them headline in general - Columbus in 2015, they played 17. Manchester Orchestra Setlist at Newport Music Hall, Columbus either way, an hour and 15 minute set for their hometown show seems short.
Its going to be the same set we've seen for the last year now. Im pretty disappointed, I need a few new Black Mile songs to make this tour something I would consider going two nights on. Either way it will be enjoyable, just going to go to one philly date. Also that "20" song set contains plenty of covers, were the covers Andy solo? Also a RAGC captain song?
Technically, it was just two covers. The other 18 were all MO songs. The Party's Over (Willie Nelson) which they used to play a lot during that time (I've seen them play it 2 or 3 times) and the RAGC cover. The Party's Over was just Andy, I believe - as was the RAGC cover. I don't remember which RAGC song it was, it. At that time, I hadn't listened to much RAGC (didn't get into RAGC until 2012). I remember it being very quiet and honestly, kind of boring, my guess is it was Oh, Deceiver. They actually tried to play Pensacola live on this night too (not featured on that link) but started and then stopped. I've seen MO a lot, but most of the times I've seen them were between 2009 and 2013. Last time I saw them was opening for BN in 2015. Really wish I could have seen them supporting Black Mile.
Isn't The Stuffing this year supposed to include METN front to back? If so, that album is just short of an hour long so I imagine they'll play 3-4 Black Mile songs after.
Just saw the Stuffing schedule. KD opening the main stage over STD which is headlining the side stage. That seems weird.
The song had more of a MO feel, obviously. Would not shock me at all if right before tour, they release a second, more TFB style song with more Brian.
I got a link in my email as part of their mailing list. http://www.artistic.io/u/Manchester...9HLf7ZW8x/blank/171502/Allentown---Stream.htm
In the off chance someone is heading to the record store today and is able to pick up two copies of the Black Mile demos, I'd pay for all shipping plus more for your effort. Waited outside my store this morning to find out they didn't pick up any copies.
