COPE is an absolute jam. COPE is also easily their worst record. It's definitely a great record for the genre, but it pales in comparison to the rest of MO's discography.
Yeah, I didn't understand how amazing their discography was until I was prepping for A Black Mile, which obviously took their discography to completely new heights. Heck, COPE is my least favorite by a mile and it's still probably the one I'd most want to blare out my car windows.
I agree with this completely. Like, by far their worst record, but still a really good record. I have the deluxe version that features After the Scripture which is one of my all-time favorite Andy songs.
couldn't really love (@loudasallgetout) anymore, his trash opinions, they do suck all love I just had to do it
Cope is the record I've listened to the most of MO. My big struggle with the band is that they don't make records I can listen to while I do other things - there's so much going on musically and I get lost in the lyrics and it's hard to say, work or read or drive with someone else in the car, or something else that demands my attention. MO has to be, basically, listened to while I'm doing nothing else at all. Except for Cope. So I can recognize other albums are 'better.' They're deeper and more complex and more impressive works of art. But I've probably listened to Cope four or five times for every time I've listened to Black Mile, and twice for every time I've listen to Simple Math or Virgin or Mean Everything. Cope is my favorite, even though I know it isn't the best. If that makes any kind of sense at all.
Black mile Metn Ilavlac Hope Cope Simple math Is my ranking right now. The bottom 3 will change a lot but the top 3 are set in stone.
If every song in simple math sounded like mighty than it would probably be my favorite.. I need sinful math!
sure why not a black mile mean everything to nothing i'm like a virgin cope simple math hope the gold is the best song this band has ever written.
I love how this thread always just reverts back to ranking the albums and disagreeing about it. But I guess that really says something about the quality of all the albums if different people love different ones for different reasons.
