I got what you were saying, and don't think there should have been an issue over it. Bipolar is a word with a separate definition than Bipolar Disorder. Regardless of how you intended it, it is a decent descriptor of the music.
If a word offends someone, be respectful and stop using it. its not like it's the only word to describe that type of music. There's never only one word. So if your stuck on something potentially offensive and your aware that it could offend, then it's just disrespectful to not choose an agreeable alternative.
You're right. I shouldn't have said "I don't think there should have been an issue over it." Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I, too, suffer from mental illness, but that word did not strike me as inappropriate. Does not mean it should still be used though if other people are sensitive to it.
I understand, thank you I'm sorry my post seemed a little passive aggressive. It's one of those things that just irks me to see and while I understand there's more than just the one definition colloquially we associate it with a mental illness that is much more than "going from one emotion to the next" as I've heard it described. But sincerely, thank you for acknowledging your post.
Okay, so... Weirdest place you've heard MO? GO! I remember when Shake It Out was the theme song for a wrestling PPV. I was real surprised. Lol
I remember hearing Top Notch on the radio at the restaurant I used to work at. A lot of the guys in the kitchen were really into buttrock and they all got surprisingly hyped when it came on. So that was weird.
Kind of related. I remember Bad Books was in an episode of How I Met Your Mother. That was random. Ha
lol shit i'm so glad i saw them live before he left. same with MCS - i saw them 3 times before all those major line up changes
It's like all dance music and country lol. It was just odd hearing them come on at broad street bullies pub
I was at a bar, and I can't remember if it was Indentions or See It Again. I was confused, and happy all at once.
not MO related but if we're talking about weird places we've heard bands playing, i heard frank turner playing in a babies r us once.
I was at a party, and in the middle of a playlist full of hip hop and 90's R&B was "Tony the Tiger". I don't know if a house party counts as a weird place, but given the context, it was really unexpected.
Come to think of it, I don't think I've ever heard MO in public. That's a shame. EDIT: I did go through a TouchTunes phase 5 or 6 years ago where I did play Shake it Out at bars I was at.
I would think we're getting an announcement within a few weeks. Hopefully just working out all of the logistics so that the time between announcement and release is short.
I sent a message to my friend's brother who works at Concord Music Group (who told me he had the mastered album in March) this morning to see if there is any update on release date. Last time I talked to him, he said he figured it'd be a Fall release. He hasn't responded yet :(
