I can't wait for this.. This has the best chance of taking over Ryan Adams' Prisoner for AOTY for me. I wonder how much of a difference it will make not having Chris around anymore? He was such a huge part of Manchester, at least their live show with his stage presence. Did anybody catch them with Thrice the other night? and if so was it weird with no Chris?
They haven't missed a beat with Chris leaving. I watched videos from last night, they killed it. The Dallas show a few months back sounded absolutely ridiculously tight and massive. The Stuffing was great, that particular show without him was weird just because it was the Virgin Anniversary show, but they sounded as good as they ever have.
Negative. People were at The Stuffing (as was I) saying Andy played a new song. I have no idea what they are talking about, I heard nothing new. He played a new song on the Kevin-Andy tour last year.
Whatever happened to that 'married' song he played a few times back in 2015/2015? I saw him play it live solo on his Dustin tour in early 2015. Wasn't sure if it was a solo song or a future MO (or past b-side) song. I think he had performed it with MO as well.
The fact they this is a concept album inspired by making Swiss Army Man, and Andy has said there will be a lot of upcoming stuff with Daniels. Ugh. So excited.
Andy definitely played a new song at The Stuffing right before the band came back out for the encore. I remember the lyric "unspeakable love" and him singing of "1000 stories".
Not a clue. I was on the rail and tuned in, maybe it was just a transitional add-on? It's not on the setlist, though that doesn't mean anything. But I don't recall anything new.
Nah man, it was an entire song. Everyone in the band left, and it was just Andy in the dark but he was backlit. I have the image burned in my head cause I was so hyped that he said, "This is a new song".
Also someone logged it on setlist.fm if that counts for anything. Manchester Orchestra Setlist at The Stuffing 2016
I'm more of an IMLAV guy myself, but I've heard and can understand your points. SM is probably tied with METN for my 2nd favorite.
I didn't become a fan of this band until after cope came out so I'm so excited for my first official album roll out as a fan. Since then I've seen Andy solo and the band 6 times
