It's hard for me to imagine people not liking Cope - MO's discography is essentially perfect in my eyes, and it seems like they've got a record for roughly any mood I'm in. Cope is great, I think. That said, I think Hope has gotten more play than any of their albums up to this point. It's whatever is better than 'perfect' since I already used that adjective. Oh, and count me in the 'Bad Books is better than RAGC' camp. BB feels more like a band I can return to again and again than RAGC, which feels like an art project or movie or whatever. It's a self-contained story that I have to be in the mood to plow through - BB is just two great collections of songs (also, the more Kevin Devine, the better).
I like Bad Books, but I've always thought it wasn't quite as good as it could be considering who's involved.
I think Bad Books would've been excellent with their next album if it wasn't so long a gap. Since the last one was the first one they actually wrote collaboratively, feel like the time in between will make it like they've got to figure that out again, but idk
I hoe the next Bad Books album features more songs with the guys sharing vocals. It's cool to have them featured on another project between Manchester and Kev releases. Favourite Bad Books songs are It Never Stops, and Pyotr.
Album coming soon? And when you click her profile the latest post says: "After a long month mixing one of my favourite records ever...It's currently being mastered...and this is how happy I am!!!"
Yes!! Guessing may but could be way longer.. I stalked her instagram hoping for some little videos or something but came up short
Is this the greatest music video ever made? Perhaps. It's definitely my favorite. Beyond stoked that they're still working with The Daniels.
Oh also, a couple of weird and cool tidbits that people probably already know but might not already know but also probably don't care about: This video was nominated for two MTV Video Music Awards, and won best music video at the Vimeo Awards (yes, this is a thing).
Yea I tweeted him last night asking if there would be a second leg of the solo tour he said no but exciting things happening soon
SOOOOOOO, One of my best friend's brother works for a record company (Concord Music Group) who is somehow tied to distributing Manchester Orchestra releases (They released Hope and Cope). Anyway, he JUST sent me a private facebook message saying "I just received a master copy version of the Manchester Orchestra album from our engineer that we are releasing later this year. It is in my top 10 albums of 2017." I don't even think he's a fan of Manchester Orchestra either. I asked him if he knew the release date and he said he has no idea and that it's being worked on by 'one of their sister labels.' I couldn't be more jealous right now.
