Andy played what was clearly a new song tonight. It was just him and his guitar, and sounded like what will be the opener for the new album. The lyrics were talking about "1000 stories".
When did he play it? I just checked setlist.fm and there was a song titled "unspeakable love" after they finished I'm Like a Virgin.
Yup that's definitely the one! They finished, and Andy came back out for the one song. I remember the end of the "chorus" whatever had lyrics about "unspeakable" and "amazing" love.
Also, the new song sounded kind of like a mix of the Swiss Army Man style and normal Andy solo type stuff. "A Better Way" off the soundtrack is a pretty solid comparison to it.
Can confirm, The Stuffing was rad. Andy needed lyric sheets for Don't Let Them See You Cry and Alice and Interiors, it was pretty funny.
Yeah he said that before they played it and same for Alice and Interiors, but I could have sworn I saw them play the neighborhood is bleeding at local shows before the Brand New hype train gobbled them up. Either way, both were super good. Another cool note is they brought out original members (minus Chris ) for some of the songs. It was great to see some of those dudes again, but the difference in energy between Jonathan and new bassist Andy is hilarious.
Not sure if this was talked about already, but apparently Manchester Orchestra was selling copies of You Brainstorm, I Brainstorm, But Brilliance Needs A Good Editor on white vinyl?
Listened to I'm Like A Virgin on the way home today. It's such a wonderful album! I Can Barely Breathe still blows me away
That's amazing. I consider MO one of my favorite bands, but strangely don't own any of their releases on vinyl. If this becomes widely available, though, I think it will be a great place to start.
I think they said earlier in the year that a pressing of Nobody Sings Anymore is supposed to be available around the holidays. Hopefully it's still on track for that release time.
