haha, I was wondering if it was more lyrical elements that you felt weren't done as well or a music thing or?

 

Actually, yeah. The lyrics are a big part of it. Some of the songs I can't even listen to now, even though, musically, they are fantastic. For example, "Where Have You Been", is a song I hardly even listen to now. There are a few others like that, but I just can't bring myself to ignore the lyrics.

 

oh, that's wild. is it the subject matter? i felt like they were pretty well crafted in general on that album. thanks for the elaboration though

 

Yeah it is. It's not just Manchester Orchestra though.

I even struggle to listen to "Jesus Christ" all the way through. But shhh! I'll get roasted for saying that on here ha[\spoiler]

 

That's completely fair, some subjects are just a turn off. I've heard that before as a barrier getting into MO in general, too

They actually have two completely different songs that are both called Opposite Sides. Weird but cool.
