I've said this on here before but if you are a fan of Mean Everything to Nothing you should check out Black Foxxes "I'm not well".
I'm so jealous for anyone who has ever seen Jesse join them live...I've seen MO open up for Brand New three times now and Jesse has never came out for it at my shows.
Virgin will forever be my favorite record of theirs. Forever. I saw the first tour, walked through the halls of my high school to it for the next 2 years. Whenever they play any songs from it, I lose it. So many memories. So many firsts. So many times it was there for me. I'm flying in from Phoenix for The Stuffing, to hear and see the final send off for that record, as I doubt they ever play it in full again.
I had never heard Where Have You Been so I looked up the live version with JL and KD. Completely blew me away. Then I listened to the album version and got let down. The production on the album version just kills all the momentum the song has. I would love to see it rerecorded to reflect how huge it is live.
I don't know if I'd say it's the production but the album version is definitely a let down after seeing it performed with Jesse. Album version is still way better than the unnecessary long jam version they do
ManOrch's version of "Escape (The Pina Colada Song)" Is breathtaking! I never knew how beautiful that song could be. Honestly, I don't think I ever listened to the words before MO cover of it!
What the fuck guys... The album version of Where Have You Been is easily the best Manchester Orchestra song.
I don't disagree but have you seen any old live videos of it? It's even better with JTL. Saw it at one show with Jesse and it was amazing. Next show I went to, Chris was out sick so there weren't any oooos and it was not nearly as good
Just a heads up for anyone whose into vinyl! I wasjust able to order the 3rd pressing of I'm Like A Virgin Losing A Child from their official store. I know these sold out really quick but I was just bored at work and looking at their store and I was able to add it to my cart and check out. $27.50 shipped
Yeah. I don't think Jesse's really all that great though. Haha I like how you can really feel Andy's emotion in the studio one and prefer it to guest vocals.
While I like that he's there, it's not about his presence. I just like the emotion in that performance/arrangement compared to the album version and the longer jam version that they play not sure about you but I can definitely feel the emotion in that
Aw, this comment made my heart hurt. Going to suck without Chris being there. Not overall, but I'll miss him at shows. Sharing this because I like the version and it's got a good Chris Freeman freakout. I'd always go stage left to be in front of him during the show.
