I feel like SM is kind of nonsensical lyrically. Parts of it at least. But the other albums kind of have that too. METN is my favorite musically and lyrically. Cope is great song wise
For me they are a band with some really spectacular songs on each album and then a lot of average ones. Unfortunately, Cope all blended together and I honestly couldn't really tell you about any of the songs on it. I don't know if people persevered whether they got more out of it and maybe I gave up too quickly... I don't know.
Like A Virgin is probably by favorite to listen to in full but METN has better songs. Simple Math is good if you are in the mood for really polished rock music and COPE and HOPE are great for the Fall. LP 5 will blow them all away (I really hope so ha) Andy is SUCH a better singer now than he was on the early records I just think he needs a producer to help him deliver his vocals in a more dynamic way
its just available on the tour. idk if its floating around anywhere online or not ha. he said at some point it will be available digitally
Simple Math isn't nonsensical at all. The whole album is about him and Amy. Apprehension is heartbreaking
Simple Math is the best Manchester Orchestra album. Cope and Hope are equally disappointing. LP5 will probably be at least as good as Mean Everything to Nothing. But seriously though, Simple Math is phenomenal.
Brand New fans should move over to Manchester Orchestra, because unlike Brand New, Manchester Orchestra LP5 is actually going to happen.
I think the band has learned from Cope and Hopes mixed reception... Also them working with Casey Cresezno a bit is a big plus. Just feel good about it.
Yeah. Casey went to help them a bit in Asheville in the early stages. Don't know if it was to help with the lyrics (since this is going to be a concept record) or music though.
I'm honestly so surprised that the general consensus isn't Mean Everything to Nothing. That album is 10/10 for me. MO's TDAG/MBDTF
