I think they were recording recently, right? I wonder if this means they've finished recording? If so, that's a small, small silver lining.
where have you been is no good without they keyboard part. hope he does well as a full-time fingerboarder
They could play the "strings" as a backing track.. But that's lame. Really sucks. Some of the best MO moments are when the keys are at the foreground. For example, in Shake It Out when that high synth parts comes in 3/4 of the way through
more like the "oooo"s. i've seen them play a show without chris in the past and they just excluded that part but they could do that if it's an anticipated thing
I had a feeling something was up with Freeman based on a couple of Instagram posts recently. I saw several photos of the band in the studio and he was absent from all of them so I thought maybe something like this would be coming. Sucks because I loved watching him during the live shows. I would also assume that this means he wasn't part of recording the new record
There might be a couple in the background. But I don't know for sure. Hope was almost only keyboards though, so I guess even if there aren't they kind of made up for it.
There is some keyboard on Cope, but it doesn't come through very well because of the poor production/mixing. I'd cite some songs where it's discernable on, but it's been a long time since I've listened to this album so I can't remember.
Not a very good album imo. The production reminds me of The Wonder Years' No Closer to Heaven. Vocals are really low in the mix, not much dynamics, and they both just sound drab. They should've just released Hope.
I think Cope was fine, although I'd rank it as my least favorite MO album. I think Hope is absolutely incredible. For a band to be able to release two albums like that is really special, imo.
