My guess is that it's a bridge. Like, this is part of the album cycle. Big Live album Black Mile release that bridges into the singles of the new album.
Yeah those guitars are not from Black Mile. But the footage they spliced in is absolutely from their touring the last couple years. The screams are from Black Mile. The people they are tagging in the stories are all ATL production people and videographers. And Catherine is not being tagged. Leads me to conclude this is step 1 in the big rollout. Hypothesis. Step 1: Live Album and Movie from 2017-2019 tours Step 2: First Single off LP6 Step 3: Part 1 of Making of Documentary for LP 6 Step 4: Second Single off LP6 Step 5: Part 2 of Making of Documentary for LP6 Step 6: Third Single off LP6 Step 7: Part 3 Documentary Step 8: LP 6 Launch.
Y'all are crazy. That was definitely The Moth (live version) in the trailer. It has both background parts and the downstrokes at the end of the chorus. Exactly how they play it live. edit: okay it might sound more different than I thought on second listen.
I thought I was the only one that didn't like this... I'm all for Andy releasing anything and everything he wants to but just didn't do it for me. I'm hoping for a surprise album. I find I listen to live albums once, think they're mildly cool then never really go back to them and listen to original songs. Kinda think for quarantine a RAGC album would be so timely but it doesn't seem that's in the works.
It’s entirely possible I listen to their Christmas album every December for the rest of my life. Also, they raised tens of thousands of dollars for hungry people releasing it. I’d say that’s exactly the sort of thing a band should be doing with pandemic related downtime.
I liked the Christmas album but I think the ‘carols’ translated better to that style than the Christmas ‘songs’. The carols are beautiful and haunting and I love them.
I’d like something new, even if it didn’t make the final cut of the album. But doing a release right now is the right decision. If it’s a live album or something to hold people over, than that’s something. I hope it’s more than just Black Mile songs though. I don’t want them to stay hyper focused on one album at this point because they have a nice discography that can all be celebrated.
Realizing I have been playing the hell out of ABMTTS for nearly 4 years straight now. So excited for this live collection and then the new album. Part of me is still deathly afraid I won't like it. But they haven't had even a mediocre album yet.
Well. Here's hoping this is still the lead into the new album cycle because we've already got The Maze, The Gold, The Moth, The Alien, The Grocery, The Parts, and The Silence quite a few times live. Bummed we aren't getting Pride (Live)
"I’m excited to say that this is more than just a concert. It’s also the beginning." Hmmmmmmm you're inaudible thrown away like an audible Wheel you down to the old folks home Are you listening to me? I'm your obstacle Dad would tell you, "Impossible" So my options are optional Do you see what I mean? You're mumbling "Afterlife? Some wasted life" and the notion that you'll never be free
