Turns out Andy and Rob are producing Paris Jackson’s entire album. I still find this wild. Wonder if she’ll release it on their label?
https://www.facebook.com/ManchesterOrchestra/videos/349224376126528 hey friends, I am happy to share with you this unique acoustic performance of “the maze” featuring our sister Brother Bird. (heading to streaming soon). this song started two weeks after my daughter was born in July 2014. just a soft lullaby I imagined she was singing to me while we battled all the tiredness and newness together. for such a simple song, it took a lot of work and a lot of time to get the vision just right. we recorded this song twice in the studio and took months trying to solve its figurative maze. six years later this song continues to have a life of its own and it legitimately brings me to tears when I hear that it connects with people in such a real way. thank you for listening to our music and for allowing us into that vulnerable area of your brain. all of our love - Andy
Eh that’s just part of being an “indie” band. It kills me I can walk up to people my age. Ask if they know The Dismemberment Plan, Pavement, or Built to Spill etc. They usually don’t.
They have severe and sincere masterpieces. I feel like if they were around back when rock was more popular they would have been humongous. Just introduced a friend to them and he was in complete awe.
I sometimes wonder if The Maze is my favourite Manchester Orchestra song. It's definitely my favourite 'slower' one.
I asked them to cover CR on Patreon so I'm going to have to take all the credit for this one. Really though, I am very excited for this.
I will give you all credit as well. Can we also get a cover of Blood In Your Mouth while we're at it?
He covered Blood in Your Mouth at a local record store here in ‘08. There used to be great videos on youtube of it, but the guy deleted them.
Speaking of Colour Revolt, I think about the lyric part of this video almost every time Wolves comes on.
Was hoping for more of a drive-in show in Atlanta rather than some socially distanced outdoor barn show in the sticks of Connecticut lol
I think any chance of an ATL show is toast. Next year will be the SM Anniversary, and it’ll be a wonderful way to welcome the event back.
I still hope they release Sinful Math to a wide audience next year if it’s a thing. I think it’s been mentioned by someone as making it part of the Simple Math anniversary or something. Sorry if I am wrong about that.
and maybe. just maybe. they'll play leave it alone. If they played that song on their patreon, i'd subscribe INSTANTLY.
Next year, it’s been said multiple times that it will be included with next years anniversary release.
