They do all their own much so they don’t have distribution companies that can save on international shipping
I really wish they would have gone all out with bsides, I would have loved I was a lid and sure shot on this release
yeah, "I Was a Lid" really wrecks. didn't realise it wasn't on the double vinyl until y'all pointed it out, that's a shame
Dammit y’all. Now I have to spend ANOTHER $40 to get the final one. By the end of this I’m gonna have like 10 pressings of METN
This last one is sweet too! How are these dudes able to get vinyl turned around so quick? Think they have a good relationship with a small pressing plant or something? Just curious since you hear about all the trouble other groups run into that cause severe delays etc.
The new pressing isn’t expected to ship until October, the splatter pressing was already in hand and ready to ship I think. But yeah, you would think more than a 2 month lead time would sound reasonable.
oh yea, I'm just talking about the second pressing that was JUST announced. My order of the other pressing showed up at my door today already. crazy!
I would have guess they had the second press ready to go as I remember when it sold out on the tour last year Andy said they would have a 2nd press available, so probably waited until they had them before announcing it
I think they're just really good about planning these things out ahead of time since they do all the merch themselves. Pretty sure that third press was already in the works when the cotton candy sold out. They've already started shipping the cotton candy ones.
They try to be as accurate as possible in their estimations. They don't want a lot of stock hanging around waiting to be sold, like Brainstorm did. Create AND maintain the market.
I really like how the band did this. Patreon members go first, and then the general public gets a frantic minute or whatever to try to order the special color of the record. Then for the rest of us, we get a couple days to decide if we want a second pressing. Everyone wins - crazy vinyl collectors, monthly supporters, random folks who just want one of the eight or ten best albums ever made regardless of color. Everyone. I really, really appreciate the way this went down.
Unless you live outside the US and don’t want to pay crazy shipping. It’s fine really, but it does put me off joining any patreons that have exclusive merch/vinyl because living in the UK means it’s either hard or expensive to support. Not sure what else they can do though and non-US must only be a tiny portion of their overall fan base.
Was just thinking about how the METN10 show was the last show I saw in-person, as well as the last show the band had an in-person crowd. Can't wait for all of this to be over.
