Always wondered if a demo of “I remember that I wanted to kill you” existed. Really hoping for that one too, as I’ve listened to a bootleg version for, well, a decade now.
Sometimes I think I know everything about this band. Then I run across conversations about songs I rarely, if ever, have thought about outside of that era.
Ha, the 2008-2010 era (well, maybe on into 2012?) remains the height of my MO fandom. I’m not nearly as much of a fanatic as I was then, but I do have fond memories of chasing down whatever b-sides, bootlegs, and demoes I could find. So yeah, I’m very excited for this next batch.
not to be that guy who sounds ungrateful but I would swap most band's entire discographies for Andy to release "Rejoice"
3 of them are on his tumblr (1 is a bad books demo) and 1 he played live a few times. aside from that i think they're all unknown/new edit - on twitter Andy said Wheelchair is the first demo of Mighty
I really love that he's doing these. I know its always leads me to the questions like why didn't he finish these songs for Manchester Orchestra or Bad Books, why did he never really release a solo album outside the RAGC story, what would these sound like finished, does Rejoice exist full band, and many more. But these also show you how many cool songs this guy writes, how great his work is acoustic, and how great he is for releasing these with a purpose. Well done Andy.
