It don’t mean that to reflect on one band. I think most people have 5-25 bands that probably follow closely. If you do subscriptions, that can add up if you’re trying to stay in the know and keep up with content. Older me doesn’t worry as much, but 16 year old me would. I think the idea of having additional money generating routes is fantastic. I wish more bands would put out more content if possible. The idea of selling lyrics books, bsides albums, paid streaming live shows and so on. I feel like Andy/MO would do a good job of it. Kevin too. But does that end the Devinyl Series? Do those songs become exclusive content? Does that mean less time for a Bad Books 4? Only limited fans hearing Hope? Not sure. Any used to do a nice job with his tumblr page posting music.
I think it’d just be for a short period, maybe. If either were to do it. I also can’t imagine it would take away from any ‘real’ projects. It’d just be a fun thing that fans can do with these artists or bands and support them while they release weird covers or mini-live sets. Not every band will ever do this, nor are you expected to subscribe if they did. It’s just something extra, especially right now to supplement income.
A short period thing would probably make sense, or around an album release/tour. Also glad this wouldn’t effect other projects. Andy’s so busy with projects and scores. And....has “Humble” been released or posted before. I feel like yes.
Again, credit to every band giving fans a little something special or different to look forward to right now.
Happy to see them using bandcamp. Feels accessible to most people. Also, interested in hearing more from this era too.
I have a few of these already but everything in one place in good quality will be lovely ...also he's gotta be working his way through each era right? right?!
I can’t believe I ripped several of these songs off MYSPACE back in 2006. Now I’m in quarantine 14 years later in bed just adoring these all over again.
