Manchester Orchestra is a good band.

Great even.

Some would even argue amazing.

Among the weirdest of stops in the great players bouncing around in the mid 2000’s.

 

Keel Timing sounds wayyyyy too similar to Bed Head

Even the first line of each verse has the same cadence... “something inside my head”, “carrying all your dead”

I wanted to like it but that’s a no for me

 

It’s intentional. That’s the gimmick.

 

Yeah I got that, the end of Keel Timing pretty clearly blends into the intro of Bed Head

Thematic writing is one thing, releasing your first two singles with identical beats and and vocal cadences is another, not particularly interesting to me

 

I actually appreciate getting these two songs as the first singles because of how well they play off of each other. Makes it feel like they aren’t really spoiling all of what they have in store with the new album while also giving me songs that I can have on repeat, playing back to back.

Keel Timing slaps actually, Bed Head is just a hard act to follow.

Watched the letterman performance y’all are talking about. That was so crazy good. How come other tv performances aren’t mixed that great?
