Yeah it's kind of surprising to hear diehard fans complain about them not playing the set staples. I've seen those plenty of times, give me the new stuff. I wish Coheed would close out their shows with something other than Welcome Home, for example.

Seeing them tonight at HOB. Saw the setlist they have been playing and was a little disappointed in the lack of old songs, but I do understand it. I'm more just disappointed since I've never seen them live (as a full band, since I did see the acoustic set they did in Orlando a few months back). Either way though, I love their latest two albums and excited as hell for tonight, just wish one or two more older cuts would be in the mix.

It's mostly for my girlfriend and some friends who only saw the acoustic set and have yet to see a full band set.

Completely get that. Especially because the older songs hit so much different live these days then the album version. If there was a professionally produced version of how I Can Barely Breathe sounds live it would probably be one of my most listened to songs ever.

Unless its a specific tour (new album, anniversary, something like that) I hope all bands except that it could be someone in the crowds 1st time, 4th time or 15th+ time. And honestly, not every market is is the same. They don’t hit them all equally (not do other bands). MO is pretty US heavy tour band and a lockdown is only going to increase that.

I'm just relieved we've made it to another tour where "leave it alone" remains to be unplayed, you know? I'm certain hell will freeze over before that happens, so this lets me know that the world is continuing to spin on.

Can't wait for them to play Leave It Alone and Apprehension at The Stuffing and never play them again :(

I’m here for the eventual Bob Dylan/Neil Young heel turn where you go to a show and they just play everything BUT the songs you actually want to hear.

My favorite setlist story Neil Young ever did was right before Tonight’s The Night came out, he sold out a club in LA. No one really knew anything about the record and they came just to hear the hits. He opens with Tonight’s The Night and proceeds to play the entire record. Song after song people kept getting more upset and just held out hope he’d start playing ‘the hits’. So, once he finished the record, Neil could sense the fans were frustrated. So he walks back on stage and says ‘okay okay. Here’s one you’ve all heard before... *roarous cheers all around*

he proceeds to play Tonight’s The Night again.

That’s a cool story. Gotta love how he committed.

As band, MO, without tons of “hits” per say, I think they have the freedom to play tons of different songs from the older albums and rotate them. I’m sure by the time phase 3 rolls around or phase 4, people will still want to hear a MMOG song or a few. Also, the idea of phase 3 or 4 sounds cool because that’ll mean we have lots of MO records. And maybe a few other projects records too (BBiii).

Everyone who has some time to kill should watch this full set on YouTube, it’s fantastic!

Tbh the real crime with this tour is Foxing only playing 8 songs.

I think Foxing definitely>Manchester Orchestra live. Every time I’ve seen them they’ve gone 110% in terms of energy and stage presence, and I can’t say the same for when I saw Manchester Orchestra. That’s why I wish they were doing their own headliner so they could just go all out on tour or at least playing more songs on this tour because they really do bring it each time.

Last time I saw Manchester was the METN anniversary tour and it honestly felt…off. Don’t know how better to explain it but I was a little let down from it compared to previous times I’ve seen them.
Still gonna go to this tour, mostly for Foxing but I’m down to hear some of the new songs live

if any manorch album was as good as tonight’s the night i’d be down for that, sure

i don’t think that’s a hot take. andy would agree with me.

again, no one is saying they can’t pick their own set lists. people are just allowed to say online they’d want more than three (3) old songs in a set lol

Certain bands with large discographies do a good job mixing the new with the old. The Mountain Goats, Jimmy Eat World, and Death Cab, are a few that come to mind. I do think with 6 albums there’s more than enough material to vary the setlist and not make them so heavy on the recent release. I mean, those older songs are what got the band popular in the first place after all.

Best show ever tonight. Do I wish the setlist was longer for some old faves. Sure. But it was glorious and they are a well oiled machine.

Foxing is great and all. I enjoyed their set. But really can’t compare at all. Especially live. His voice is always under mixed and impossible to understand.

    MO sounded flawless.

Ehh I’ve never had an issue understanding Conor’s voice live. It could be because I know a lot of the lyrics but even times I’ve seen them where I didn’t know every lyric I could understand him. Also when I saw them together in 2019 Foxing brought way more energy to the stage and was more captivating to me than ManOrch. Obviously it’s all subjective but I personally do think they are the better band on this tour.

I was there as well! I got a little annoyed by people wooing during the quiet parts, but at the same time it’s awesome to see people just so excited to be at a concert. Hell of a time. Every band was phenomenal. Slothrust completely gained a new fan.
