Backwards glow in the dark track names are a mystery.

 

They posted a phone number that you would call and each button press would give you a distorted stem from The Wolf. They did the same kind of thing with Bed Head this album cycle. They enjoy cryptic marketing.

 

Better pay off than the “Heat Thing” viral marketing we all had to ensure.

 

I’m not confirming what it all is.

But if a band is teasing a new record, wouldn’t that be the biggest thing a band could do?

Yeah. It was pretty effective marketing during the viral marketing era, but wild is definitely the right word. I remember people posting how scared they were going to places and doing the scavenger style hunt. Also, with all the bands and members posting Heat Thing. Too bad it HD no pay off. Not a great way to introduce an unknown band. I know they were piggy backing off their off other bands and success. Fascinating watching the buzz unfold and the disappointment after.

It’d be cool if Manchester caught us off guard, but that viral marketing thing would be too much now. A surprise would be a delight. The announcement of MMOG was a delight, and it made me feel justified in saying they should and could release a record during these times.

 

What are the track names from the cryptic packaging again? I want to remember so that I can shout them out as requests until they relent

Where else on the internet am I allowed to go to have fun discussing what this band is doing if not for the band, album cycle, specific thread on a music enthusiast website?

Hopefully DC has a bandcamp page or puts it up on YouTube or some iTunes source or something. I can only imagine it being a heavier song.

 

It's a COPE B-Side that never got around to being finished.

 

But Cope never got around to being finished?(just kidding...production joke based on my earlier comments). I hope this is easily accessible because it’d be fun to hear how this turns out production wise and may start a little more of the debate. Heavy MO is Cope era MO so this sound like a good fit.

 

Their review wouldn't change my opinion on the record, so there's no stock to be put, but I am curious to see their review.

There's no denying how awful some of Pitchfork's perspectives are. There's also no denying how much great music I've discovered through them. Both can co-exist.
