people say that but it never really makes sense to me. there’s no rule that you have to like the albums that came out since you’ve been paying attention most

i didn’t get into thrice until alchemy index. that doesn’t make major/minor better than vheissu

    Fair,

I don’t know. Just sayin’, Cope has time. Lol

It does. I think it’s common for bands to rank their era of discovery higher. We all have a tendency to do it, but your rank is yours and there’s nothing wrong with what captures your musical attention with a band like MO.

Remix/Remaster this record and I could see it moving up peoples list. It could on mine. I am guessing there is no financial advantage or time to do this though.

would seem crazy to do in the midst of an album cycle for another album, especially one this big, but it could make sense for the album’s 10th anniversary

You’d need to secretly turn over the original recordings to someone who would take this on. Bands do release remasters as anniversary albums, but I’d rather MO/BB continue making new music and they’ll touring a lot too in time.

Do you think a remaster or whatever would make it better? I like the songs overall. Don’t like the flat sound for such a huge sounding songs as they were written.

I know I already got dunked on once for this,

but the chances of a Cope ‘remix’ are slim to none. That’s what they wanted to do and they did it. Then they turned around and did HOPE.

They always planned on HOPE, so they were completely okay with Cope being what it is. A true yin/yang.

yes 100% it would drastically improve an already good record.

We reach for the longest shadow

I'd rather just have a professionally recorded live show including a lot of older songs. The energy of I Can Barely Breathe live vs. on record is so different, and a good sounding live recording of that song would probably be my favorite song of theirs.

At this point, I pretty much exclusively listen to Million Masks, Black Mile, and then Simple Math on occasion. I imagine I might throw on Virgin now and then because it is such a nostalgia bomb for me. But I'll probably leave the rest behind.

It get this. Hope has a great atmosphere feel.

I don’t get why Cope doesn’t have a bombastic blow out your speakers and feel like you’re at a concert feel. Their album, their choice. Could still have the ying-yang feel by having an album with room to breath and an album with smothering rock sound.

The songs on Cope are so good, I do think it is a little bit of a shame that the versions of them that got a good recording are rearrangements, as great as the Hope versions are.
