Be twice the ocean. Be twice the land.

It's crazy how great the song Human Touch is compared to the rest of the howlers on that album.

Lucky Town has more top-tier Springsteen songs than Working on a Dream does. I can take or leave Human Touch outside of the title track, though.

Cannot get over how great of an "early morning" record this is. They also nailed it on the release date. Since it's perfectly suited for warm, rainy spring mornings.

Andy really went to advanced "how to harmonize" school ahead of this release, eh? damn.

    Motel. Money. Murder. Madness.

I’m a Darkness guy at number one, but I love Nebraska.

It’s a really really odd bunch on that record. Bruce’s cadence is too weird on a lot of it. It’s like someone told him to make a crooner record, and he turned out that. 57 Channels is awful.

whoa whoa whoa, Working on a Dream, while not GREAT is still leagues ahead of LT. You can’t possibly compare any Other Band record to an E-Street record, even if it is a lower tier record.

    Wow. Just wow.

I’m going to assume you mean Tom Joad, which I agree is damn near perfect.

But Rising, Devils and Dust, Wrecking Ball, and even High Hopes are huge highlights in his discography. I like Letters to You too, but it’s still too new for me.

Working on Dream has the E Street Band, yes, but it also has poor production (O'Brien in full "I shrink-wrapped these guitars for you" mode) and a bunch of songs that sound like Bruce wrote them in five minutes. I'd prefer Lucky Town with the E Street guys too, but the songwriting is stronger on the whole than it is on Dream. Gimme "Better Days" and "If I Should Fall Behind" over anything on Dream, with the exception of "The Wrestler," the bonus track.

Andy Hull, Brian Fallon and Bruce Springsteen walk into a bar.

    Not a joke.

Just want to see them walk into a bar and see what happens.

    what lol

no, i’m not talking about tom joad, one of his worst albums that i have never seen much positive talk about until now. it’s the rising lol, obviously.

Okay, you pick the two songs from LT that you can’t mess with. And obviously we both prefer that era to have never happened and wish the E-Street band maintained - but it did and they didn’t, and that record sounds like it’s missing them dearly. But I genuinely enjoy much of WOAD. The middle run plus The Wrestler, I can jam it.

Whoa whoa whoa. It wasn’t appreciated in its time, surely. But it’s risen up the ranks as time has gone on, and I’d argue you could put it right up with Nebraska as a great Springsteen solo record.

I was born in a swamp, born with no clothes on

I wish I had the restraint to not have listened to those 2 prior to release as well because they are fabulous songs but I do find myself listening to Inaudible & Angel of Death and then anticipating Annie... But the more full album plays I listen to, the less Iess i find myself waiting for those 2 songs to end and just enjoy the full ride.

confirmed through Tom Morello that Bruce is a fan.
