I am very happy that, after my record store lied to me on Thursday about carrying the album, I stopped in “just to check”. BOOM.

Oh man, I can't believe I forgot about this Middle Kids album. It's so good.

 

I spent a couple weeks away from it and I had a moment returning to it today.

 

SIXTY DAYS wasn’t long enough. Should have started at ONE HUNDRED DAYS.

I have failed everyone.

My wife and I used to listen to a lot of music together back when we first started dating, and it's something we always used to do even after getting married and having kids. She would introduce me to stuff I hadn't ever heard and I'd turn her onto stuff she didn't know. Well with the pandemic happening and both of us working so much it's just not something we have done in a long, long time.

This afternoon my parents took the kids out for a car ride
and we ran out to the liquor store real quick. My wife and I hop in my car and this album just came on, basically right at the start of Track 3. She LOVED it. Like really loved it, and was pretty much singing along by the end of the song. We got home and she had to listen to the whole album and she thought the whole thing was awesome.

 

i think we could have known this was the album we were getting from andy’s IG cover of carolina in my mind a few months ago. genuinely james taylor and paul simon are all over this.
