I was playing this album yesterday with someone else in the car. She's been through a ton this last year, and Obstacle and Way Back just totally wrecked her. Didn't mean to have emotional time in the car, but it just happened.

 

Really digging the record. It’s not hitting me as hard as Black Mile did at first, but I’m sure it’ll grow on me. I also can’t help but hear fun. when I listen to Inaudible (not that that’s a bad thing, it’s just a thing).

 

Woke up with Let it Storm stuck in my head and that may be steadily becoming my favorite track.

The chorus is so powerful lyrically. I originally viewed it as being purely about religion, but I've since started applying it to life in general and just wanting to have faith in the place you're in.

Super powerful stuff. That and The Internet are quickly growing on me with each listen.

A lot to say about this album but at this moment I’d just like to say that Telepath, Obstacle and Way Back are staggeringly moving songs to me.

 

I can remember driving to the Solomon Pond Mall to buy Simple Math the day it came out on CD from the Newbury Comics there and feeling like an out of touch old person doing that even back then a decade ago, but then not giving a crap as the gloriousness of "Deer" starting blasting out the speakers of my 2002 Subaru Impreza.

The moral of the story is that my CD of The Million Masks of God got delivered and I'm pumped.

 

mostly a lurker here, but had to create an account to say this is one of the best recs for me, personally, in years. This is like Manchester and Caracara had a baby with a pinch of their own stuff thrown in. Thank you!
