Has Storyline always been a feature on Spotify? This album is the first I’ve ever noticed it.

 

Black Mile instantly clicked for me. But seeing those songs live made it kick my ass.

Expecting the same here

 

This is nothing new for MO, but I always like how Andy will alter a recurring line in a chorus or elsewhere. My favorite use of this on the album is the evolution of this line in Angel of Death’s chorus:

“I’m on fire, and the guilt’s doing all of the thinking”

to

“I survived, and the guilt's falling off me in pieces”

that one hit me squarely

 

my spiciest take is that this album's weakest point is andy's lyrics

 

not spicy so much as it is dumb

 

There’s definitely some weak lyrical moments but overall it’s still very good imo

 

This is definitely the best Andy has sounded tho

 

outside of the first half of inaudible this is his best album lyrically

 

i don't think andy has ever been a great lyricist, so i don't think this album is a step down or anything. i think he's always had some weird lines and always had some really good ones on pretty much every album

 

Like a Virgin's lyrics are absolutely superb imo

he's definitely had weird misfires tho, I can't stand the lyrics to "Top Notch"

 

Idk, “we all believed in ghosts until you walked into the walls” is one of his best lines

 

I haven’t been to read the lyric sheet or anything but almost everything I’ve heard here is pretty great

 

that's one of his that's right on the line between great and corny, like the shipwreck line in "Choose You" but they work for his delivery I think

 

i actually think those are both pretty good lol but i don't care much for top notch either way

 

I actually think the opening line is fine.

It only gets better from there though.
