Simple Math (the song) is my second favorite in their discography (behind The Silence), but I prefer Cope as a cohesive album. Still love Simple Math, though. Virgin is far and away my least favorite.

I will say, it's a testament to this band's greatness that almost everybody's top 2 were released nearly 10 years apart.

The only one I didn't like so much was Keel Timing, Telepath is beautiful and I hope there are a couple more grounded tracks like that.

It was a lot harder than you’d think putting black mile at the bottom.

 

On Telepath...

1. What I’d give to hear Nickel Creek cover this.

2. That unison piano with that amazing melody at the end of the verses is flooring me.

3. Ketchup on steak is to this song as hell is to heaven.

 

Cope hit me instantly, but it came out around the time I distanced myself from the church against my families wishes. Definitely fit the theme.

 

Why the fuck did you put black mile on the bottom
