It’s the “I can not only see but you’ve stopped me from blinking” line for me

 

I have such a similar story! My first son was 6 months old when black mile was released. I remember trying to think of the perfect time where I could have my first listen be uninterrupted. My initial thought was to wait until everyone went to bed, but I was worried I would fall asleep during my listen due to how sleep deprived I was.

the week of release it leaked, and this happened to be on a day where my wife was working in the evening, so I was solo with my kid.

I picked him up from daycare, then fed him dinner. At that point of the night he would always get fussy as I would try to get him to sleep. Instead of spending time trying to put him down, I decided to take a chance and play the album on my living room speakers.

I remember The Maze kicking in while holding my son in my arms, and rocking him back and forth. Him laying quietly with his head on my chest and the moment just hit me. Between the lyrics (“somebody said it’s unspeakable love”) and the love I felt in that moment it was almost overwhelming.

he fell asleep about mid way through the Gold and I sat in the rocking chair listening to the album straight through- no interruptions.

It was the perfect album at the perfect time of my life.

 

The song is Married and I love it. Years ago I tweeted to Andy asking if it was an MO or Bad Books song and whether or not it’d ever officially be released and instead of answering he just liked the tweet.

 

I just remember seeing it live that it was such a cute song

 

Yeah The Maze is one of my fav ManchOrch songs now for sure because we had our daughter just after it came out. I placed a notice in our local newspaper announcing the birth and it included the line "Somebody said it's unspeakable love".

 

BT is right that the album is definitely not full of bed heads or keel timings — which is lucky because I think they’re two of the weakest

 

Did it leak or do you just have an advance copy?

It hasn’t leaked. People got advances from publications and from idiots at publications.

This is actually the only one thing I know to be false. lol

 

I had an out of body anxiety moment for a second there.

 

When I sing the song in the car I always end up screaming that line. It just hits on so many levels.

I am going to miss these posts when the countdown ends.

 

They’ll just start doing negative numbers to indicate how many days have passed since the album release.

 

As long as the posts keep making me laugh I’ll be ok with that (and the negative countdown had already appear in the previous post too).
