Looks like The Moth is the third and final single. I had a hunch The Wolf would be a single because they used parts of it in promos. I wonder when and where we will see the other two Daniels videos I've heard about.

So, I talked to a co-worker of mine and he said The Moth was in 3/4 time signature and it wasn't actually polyrythmic but that it could sound very similar due to the different chord changes and the wonkiness of it. He has a masters in Music theory.

He could be wrong as he only listened to the first 30 seconds. And I have absolutely no idea. Thoughts?

    Technically they are right but.

The song is in 3/4. The snare drum is playing in 2.. which means it accents beat 2 in a measure and beats one and three in the other measure. The bass and bass drum is accenting beat 1 and the the and of beat 2 which also gives a 6/8 feel. So you have a 3/4 feel and a 6/8 feel on top each other. These time signatures are essentially the same thing but they have different feels. So yea technically it's all the same but for me what's interesting is the song is in 3/4, the snare is in two, and the bass drum has a 6/8 feel. I too have a masters degree in classical performance though.

I've literally played pieces where the time signature will say both 3/4 and 6/8 haha they are the same things but they are counted differently and have a different feel. When he 1 and the and of 2 are accented it's more of a 6/8 feel but when the quarter notes are accents it's more of a 3/4 feel.

I remember about a while before COPE came out their was a live rip floating around from I believe House of Blues California. It was a professionally recorded show and it was super great quality. I downloaded it and it was awesome and for whatever reasons, my iTunes deleted it (along with a bunch of other albums I had downloaded for free). But it had a bunch of COPE songs on it before COPE was released (Every Stone, After the Scripture, The Ocean, Cope) and then of course the usuals.

I would still suggest giving the whole album a listen front to back even if you don't like the singles, everything works better together on this.

Out of curiosity, was the piece conducted? If so, did they conduct in 2 or in 3?

when i've played pieces like that, the conductor often changes their pattern for different measures either based on the feel of those particular measures, or that they want to more closely align with the rhythm of a particular instrument group
