I got into this album late, I even went to see them live before really listening to it. But now that I have, it has taken over my life the past month. I used to think METN was their best, but this is just on another level. I compared it to a film score in a conversation without knowing that was their goal. It really is majestic. From The Grocery to The Silence, I'm blown away. I wish my friends were talking about this instead of Science Fiction. This is a band really pushing themselves, and the music shows.

I randomly happen to now know the girl who's standing on the roof of the house in one of the artwork photos.

we cast her in a video my company was producing, and I drove her out to Joshua Tree for the shoot. Could have been an awkward 3 hour drive, but we started chatting and discovered we were into the same music and then she told me how she knows the photographer and he got her to come down and be in the shoot.

She's also in a few music videos and when we got to the location in J Tree, the owner of the house turned out to have been a director on one of those shoots and recognized her.

And then he turned out to be English and from the same town as I am. It was a weird day

Making friends in all the right places...

Good idea. Where'd you got to get them done? FedEx has given me trouble w/ printing photos that weren't mine. UPS has not.

Walgreens. They usually have great deals too. Paid $8 per print and bought the poster frames at Target for $12.99 each. 16x20

Nice. I just got this 36 x 36 done at UPS for ~$70.
It's how I'm coping with the fact that the limited vinyl has yet to ship.

Is that a poster or canvas?

The album comes with a nice 24" x 36" poster too. If only frames were affordable

It's a vinyl print that I had them fix to foam board.
It's similar to the blown up ads found in record stores.

    It's my mum's dodge caravan

Heard The Gold in a Starbucks last week - can't tell if that means this album is getting more mainstream traction, or whoever was in charge of their Spotify is just a big MO fan haha

The Gold has been in the top 5 on Alt Nation's weekly countdown for months now. It's not reaching the levels I've Got Friends or Shake It Out, but it's definitely got some mainstream appeal.

It's weird/sad that a large majority of bands like Manchester/Thrice/mewithoutYou that people want to take solace in currently I personally discovered because of Brand New.

Yeah I haven't listened to any music since this happened. I mean almost every band I listen to currently I know because of BN and the bands they toured with. Like oh I like bn so I got into thrice so I followed Riley and learned of heavier music from him and his podcasts. It's all fucked
