2 hour set? Wonder if they'll be doing all of Black Mile for this show

Sweet. Hmm I wonder if there are two separate door opens like at Center Stage Stuffing.

Anybody know how 2 stages work at a venue like the tabernacle?

There's an area below the Tabernacle that used to be The Cotton Club. It's mostly just used for merch, beer, and bathrooms now, but I imagine that's where the other bands will be playing.

That makes a lot of sense! I didn't think about that space, since it's always used for merch. Thanks.

  13. I had no idea that's where the Cotton Club was, haha.

Fucked around and completely forgot to get Stuffing tickets. Might have to scan the secondary market/actually get some people to go with me this year since it's not Thanksgiving Eve..

I haven't seen this band perform in a long time! I need to stop what I'm doing and go next time. If I don't I am no better than Krillin. This band is one graced by Kami!

I miss the Cotton Club. Never read much on why that stopped being a thing.

I feel like theres not really a bad spot at the Tabernacle. I'm more bummed I have to miss half of foxing to catch All Get Out.

Am I the only one noticing some of these songs sounding fairly samesy? I swear at certain points you could play "The Grocery", "The Alien" and "The Gold" simultaneously and the chord progressions through the verse are identical.

When the verse starts on "The Grocery" and he sings "I don't know where I'm going", try singing "The lights were low enough, you guessed"... you can sing these songs on top of one another seamlessly. I can't tell if that's good songwriting or sloppy songwriting.

I don't hear the Gold sounding like the other two, but the Grocery very intentionally shares elements with the Alien.

Yeah, that's very intentional with The Grocery and The Alien. Those along with The Sunshine are supposed to be a 3 song arc. Even on the actual LP that's all that's on side 2.

The alien to the grocery is basically one song.

Thats why they play right into each other and they do it live that way too. They all have unique parts but what the same chord progression which I believe is the minor two chord to major 1. I don’t hear the gold in these songs at all tho.

That makes more sense. It's not that weird for songs on an album to play off the same theme musically, I just didn't know if it had been acknowledged that way.

As for "The Gold", take the chorus part ("I believed you were crazy") and sing "Do you need me?" over it. Same chord progressions at certain points in the song too.

I don't hate it, just wondered if anyone noticed.

I need to go through it but pretty sure the choruses have different chord progressions. It’s similar but there are 1 to 2 chords off. Are they both in the same key? Don’t think so.
