The deluxe is also a gatefold and 180g. The standard is only 130g with a double wide spine

"Everybody I know makes the same mistakes,
packaged up in different boxes, masking tape."

I keep thinking he's gonna sing "tape" instead of "shame" but at least that's a contextually accurate mistake.

The piano on "The Alien" is so perfectly simple, I love it. It reminds me of a lick you might have heard on the Her score or something like that. Now that I've listened to this record a bunch I'm starting to notice little nuances and I'm paying attention to individual instrumentation as opposed to the whole composition and there's some rad stuff on here. Some really cool drumming.

I started driving more recently, so all my CDs left in my room have found some use

until I went to the mall to buy this album. Sorry, other albums. Still being ignored for the time being.

Apparently this did not chart well. The full list is not online yet but Rolling Stone said Arcade Fire was only new release to chart in the top 25. Bummer because Cope charted at no. 13 and Simple Math at 21

I don't understand I figured with how well the roll out was it would have sold well, also the whole download with a ticket

Maybe Rolling Stone doesn't know what they're talking about.

Maybe we're just on a tier of music appreciation that the world doesn't understand.

Maybe I'm talking out of my butt.

    Maybe it's maybelene.

Arcade Fire did same thing. Ticket purchases came with album download. I'm pretty stunned.

Hard to believe that thrice's release last year would do better than this one

I am always blown away at the fact people don't know who Manchester Orchestra is. Their fans are rabid, and the people I know who are into them are INTO them. But your average random pop-rock/indie/alternative fan says 'who?' when they're brought up. A band like Thrice or TBS or Beand New or whoever are just significantly bigger names than ManOrch.

Around here, we properly rate them as one of the best. The world at large seems to ignore them completely.

In an era of less rock bands, they'd probably do better playing guitars like METN. I'm glad they follow their hearts, and if that's A Black Mile, or a Cope, or Simple Math.

I've misheard a lot of lyrics on this album, but that certainly hasn't been one.
