Are we getting an Andy and Julien EP? I know they did Bad things to such good people by Bazan.

Been playing the record a week straight now and I'm still nowhere close to being sick of it

 

I love "The Parts," but I gotta say, I still don't know how Noah Gunderson snuck a track on here

 

I think it was something off the new album.

 

It was Friends and Enemies

 

I feel like people in this thread have a much stronger grasp of the themes and how the "story" goes and I just haven't been able to sit down with a serious listen and lyrics to figure it out.

 

That to say, this album rips. I love it more on each listen.

Might sound like Noah but Andy's been doing this for years.

 

One of the things I fell in love with Noah Gundersen for was the fact that he sounds (and writes) so similarly to Andy.

 

Oh my god.

 

Glad I'm not the only one. It's amazing to me how their self-titled got so little coverage, but the little coverage it got was like unanimous 5 star reviews. Amazing album.

 

The album is growing on me. It sounds better on headphones. The mix favors all that layered and textured vocal stuff they've been into. I can appreciate the three singles more after hearing them in the context. Though I still don't like the pacing of The Gold like when the band drops out in the first chorus.

The medley thing going on with The Alien, The Sunshine, and The Grocery was my favorite part.

A lot of the album reminded me of Color Spectrum era Dear Hunter. The last song The Silence reminded me of Radiohead for some reason. Their song Codex off of The King Of Limbs.

The album is also really lyrically dense, but it's Manchester Orchestra and pretty much expected. I like this album

Andy and Robert are on Comedy Bang Bang today and they play a couple songs live too!

 

This may be true for me as well METN and ILAVLAC are so close for me though

I would have never expected that they did a video for the sunshine. Also weird that it was on their vevo. Also sort of takes me out of it because the baby is obviously a boy and not Mayzie. Trippy though. They also didn't post about it?

With them doing Alien and Sunshine though, one has to imagine they have a video for The Grocery
