Omg the mistake "woo" lol

 

A huge fan of all the different packages the band put together for this release.

Was that a small music box I saw included with one of them?

 

Smiled big when I heard that. I read a review back when ILAV came out and the reviewer said something like "Just when you think things are getting boring, Andy throws in a well-timed 'woo!'"

also, the piano line during the swell on the silence after the reflection line reminds me of some other song, but i cant think of it. anyone know what im talking about?

 

@teebs41 I believe the Grocery note at the 4 min mark is a B, not C

 

Am I the only one that got very slight Unforgiven vibes from the silence? Or is my musical reference list just so tiny that's all I have lol

 

Greatest “woo” moment from Andy is I Can Barely Breathe from Lollapalooza 2014. That’s gets me hyped.

You are right, I actually checked it today lol. I don't have perfect pitch at all I can sometimes get close

 

This is definitely Andy's best album vocally. I think ilavlac has some of the best vocals for sure but the performance on here is other worldly... literally

 

My perfect pitch = opening the garage band keyboard. Wanted to double check before showing my sister who DOES has perfect pitch.

 

Haha I should have corrected it today bc I checked with my guitar when I was going over chord progressions for some of the songs.

 

Good news is you were right about everything else about the album. It's as sweet as a strawberry sno cone.

At the start of The Grocery when Andy sings "So you leave the apartment..." I always sing in my head "to buy alcohol". I know Andy is a huge John K Samson fan too so it seems fitting.

Ha I was really just figuring out little things, like the verses in the lead are a I iii progression. The alien sunshine and grocery all use a ii I progression at some point.

One thing I love about Manchester is thet arnt afraid of progressions that start on chords other than I or in minor I. They love to start on IV and ii
